ANALISIS CONNECTING ROD SEPEDA MOTOR 150 CC MENGGUNAKAN MATERIAL BAJA AISI 1045

چکیده

Sepeda motor dengan kapasitas 150 cc sering digunakan untuk balapan di Indonesia. Tekanan tinggi dan berulang yang diterima piston selama kompresi menimbulkan beban fatigue pada connecting rod. Pada beberapa kasus, rod dapat terjadi buckling (bengkok) atau fracture (patah) bagian kritisnya akibat tidak kuat menahan dari piston. Untuk mengantisipasi terjadinya maka diperlukan pemilihan material Jenis perancangan adalah Baja AISI 1045. 1045 merupakan jenis baja pembuatan komponen mesin kendaraan seperti roda gigi, poros mengetahui besarnya deformasi tegangan maksimum menggunakan simulasi melalui Finite Element Methode (FEM) Solidworks. Hasil analisis menunjukan didapatkan sebesar 1,996x101 N/mm2 (MPa). Tegangan tersebut belum melampaui batas yield strength Deformasi dapatkan 1,489x10-2 mm sehingga perubahan bentuk masih sangat kecil. Besarnya Factor of Safety (FoS) 26.5 ini bahwa aman digunakan.
